The latest life-threating challenge which recently started on TikTok is the Milk Crate Challenge. In the milk crate challenge, participants take on a set of milk crates stacked in the shape of a pyramid, is expected to climb up to the top of the pyramid-shaped crates and then climb back down again without destroying the structure.
TikTok videos with the hashtag #milkcratechallenge have racked up more than 10 million views, and #cratechallenge has more than 82 million views. Here’s what’s going on with the Milk Crate Challenge.
Only a few participants were able to go up and down the shaky structure while maintaining their balance.

Doctors and physicians are warning of dangerous injuries. TikTok, too, has confirmed that it is in the process of removing the videos, claiming the trend glorifies dangerous acts.

TikTok prohibits content that promotes or glorifies dangerous acts, and we remove videos and redirect searches to our Community Guidelines to discourage such content. We encourage everyone to exercise caution in their behavior whether online or off.

Milk crate challenge has worse consequences than falling from a ladder
Unfortunately, when they make a misstep or the physics of the situation just don’t hold out, they fall to the ground, usually on top of the toppled crates. It appears that people are destroying their rib cages rather than the structure, as most participants landed with a crash while attempting the challenge.
