Karnataka – India: The addiction of making TikTok videos proved costly for a girl from Karnataka lost her life while filming TikTok video.
A 20-year-old final year BA student obsessed with selfies died after falling into a farm pond in Vadageri while trying to shooting a scene for TikTok app in Kolar district’s Vedagiri, 75 km away from Bengaluru.
The incident occurred when she went out to get cattle fodder and died while trying to record a scene for her TikTok followers.

The police source said that the farm pond about 30 by 30 feet had not been fenced. The girl was allegedly trying to shooting a film-based scene when she met with the accident. The victim may have been standing on the edge of the deep pond or might have accidentally slipped into the pond.
According to a report, the girl’s parents buried the body without informing the police. Acknowledging police, the victim’s body was exhumed and sent for post-mortem. The mobile phone from which the girl was shooting the video has not been traced yet.
Mala was known for her love for selfies
Mala was a bright student and had recently received rupees 10,000 scholarship for her outstanding performance in studies. Her love for selfies could not be missed as the girl was often seen clicking photos on the campus. During a college function in May where actor Kishore was chief guest, the girl had expressed desire to join the tinsel world.

Upon learning about the incident, the police exhumed the body and conducted an autopsy. They are yet to trace the mobile phone used to shoot the video. The Kolar Rural police station is investigating a case of unnatural death.
This incident is not the first time that people have been injured attempting to perform stunts for social media. Several deaths have earlier been reported as the result of people attempting to recreate various stunts or photos to post on social media.
