Indian Husband Kills Wife After Seeing Her TikTok Video With Another Guy

Chhattisgarh – India: Jealousy, fueled by TikTok videos led to the gruesome murder of two sisters in Raipur on Thursday. Manisha and Manjulata Sidar were murdered by two men at student nurse accommodation in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Manjulata Sidar was a nursing student in Raipur. Her sister Manisha was visiting her when Saif and his two accomplices struck on Tuesday. The sisters were found covered in blood and died on the way to hospital. Police zeroed in on Saif from CCTV footage that showed him leaving the rented house in Tikrapara.

Saif planned to kill his ex-wife out of jealousy

The husband of one of the victims was arrested along with two co-accused including one of them is a minor. The investigation into the deaths of two sisters revealed that one of the victim’s estranged husband was responsible after seeing a TikTok video of her with another man.

All three suspects were tracked down and arrested in less than two days – Saif was caught at his native place Raighar, Ghulam Mustafa in Satna (MP) and the minor in Chhattisgarh Baloda Bazar.

Saif and Manjulata had a court marriage

In his confession, Saif said he was in relationship with Manjulata who too is from Raigarh. They had a court marriage around eight months ago but neither family accepted it. Due to pressure from her family Manjulata eventually stopped speaking to herself from Saif which upset him and he continued to harass her and even uploaded pictures of them together on social media. This prompted Manjulata to file a police complaint on November 3, 2019.

Officers issued a warning to Saif after a compromise was reached

Manjulata and her family complained to police following which both parties were counselled and matter was resolved. Saif remained angry with his estranged wife for filing a police complaint. He became more enraged when he saw a TikTok video of her with another man.

A few weeks later Manjulata uploaded a TikTok video of herself with another man. Saif was furious and commented on her social media account: Good, sahi ja rahi ho. (Good, You are going right) He suspected her of infidelity.

Saif enlisted the help of his friend Ghulam Mustafa and a juvenile associate. He offered Rs. 7 Lakh (£7,300) to Mustafa to help him, which he accepted.

He found out that Manjulata was meeting her sister at her rented accommodation. Saif called Manjulata and arranged to meet her.

Manisha tried to intervene but she was also assaulted

At the house, Saif and Mustafa calmly spoke to Manjulata, but it soon became heated. They then grabbed frying pans and began beating her. The two sisters were then stabbed to death while the minor kept a watch outside. The two men ran out of the accommodation along with the minor and made their way to a rickshaw.

Locals had seen Mustafa and Saif run out and later discovered the bodies. A case was registered and after reviewing the CCTV footage and speaking to locals the three suspects were arrested. SSP Sheikh revealed that rupees 40,000 (£420) was given as a reward to the police team for their quick work on the investigation.
