Colorado Teenage Girl Shot Dead While Recording TikTok Dance Video

Colorado – US: A 14-years-old girl killed at a residence in Monte Vista, Colorado on August 7 at 4:26 p.m with a Glock semiautomatic firearm the teen and two other minors were apparently playing with fired. Police officers were called to the home and found Aaliyah Salazar unconscious. Emergency medical services confirmed that there were no vital signs or signs of life from the victim.

Three person charged after Colorado girl shot dead

Three persons, a 21-year-old man Vargas faces charges of providing a handgun to a juvenile and two juvenile females are facing criminal charges in connection with the death of a Colorado teenager who was shot while recording TikTok videos. The 21-year-old, Emiliano Vargas from Monte Vista, Colo. was charged with two counts each of providing a firearm to a juvenile, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and failing to secure the weapon.

The girl was shot in the head, the act was seemingly intentional

Aaliyah Salazar had been shot in the head and a Glock 19-9mm was found at the scene. The victim and two others had the gun while recording TikTok videos when it was either tossed to the victim or pointed at the victim and it fired. Aaliyah Salazar had recently graduated from the 8th grade at Monte Vista Middle School and would have been a freshman at Monte Vista High School this year.

The gun was pointed at the victim and went off

A witnessed girl said one of the juveniles took the gun from a top shelf, where it was allegedly known to be kept, and that someone took a clip out of it before handing it to another minor. The gun was pointed at the victim and went off. It could be on accident. While police officers at the scene said the firearm was found in a position that suggested the gunshot wasn’t self-inflicted.

Police obtained a phone used to record the TikTok videos

A video clip found that was recorded just before the shooting. It shows one juvenile dancing, someone in the background fiddling with something, and the victim in nearly the same place where their body was found.

The home belongs to Vargas’ grandparents, and at least one of the juveniles handling the gun had their parents’ permission to live there, Vargas kept the gun unlocked and told at least one of the minors they could use it. Vargas was not home at the time of the shooting but was the legal owner of the handgun.

An investigator said a review of the TikTok account the juveniles were using included a photo from May in which a gun was being pointed at someone. It was not clear whether the gun was the same as the one found at the scene.
